Our almost 2-year-old grand-daughter, Geneva, was to be dedicated to The Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022. [In the Baptist church, children are not christened, but rather prayed for in a church ceremony, beginning their life-long spiritual journey. Baptism is instead reserved for believers, who publicly proclaim Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior]. And so, because this ceremony was not to be an infant Baptism, I was naturally concerned about being able to find an appropriate card or gift for the occasion. But, then, I thought: who could I trust to help in this situation? Why, Hallmark, of course! After locating my store's section, entitled "Baby Baptism", it thankfully did not take me long to find the perfect card. The wording itself [on both the front cover and the inside], was just what I had been looking for: a message filled with hope in Jesus for both parents and child. I was so pleased! Next, I needed a gift to commemorate such an important day, which would have a personal, faith-filled, meaning for her as she grew to know Jesus. As I searched the store's selection of Baptism-related things, I saw the baby cross. I fell in love with it immediately because of its simple, yet amazingly thoughtful, design. It was carved, using a very light-weight wood and its shape was curved in a way that made it just right for a young child to hold! It was truly unique. Understandably, I couldn't wait for Sunday. I am happy to report that both items were a huge hit! Furthermore, just as I had hoped, our little Grand-daughter had no trouble either holding or carrying her very special cross. As you can see, I was right to choose Hallmark for such an important purchase. The card will be a keepsake to remember this day and the cross will be something that Geneva will be able to use from now and for years to come, as well as to serve as an heirloom, to pass on from her grandparents, when she has children of her own some day. Thank you, Hallmark, for a job well done!
