Mickey Mouse and Disney

Mickey Mouse has a personality that makes him the perfect partner for Hallmark cards and gifts.

In fact, Mickey was Hallmark’s very first licensed character when he made his debut
on greeting cards in 1932. Ever since then, our artists, writers and "Silly Symphony" aficionados
have devoted themselves to bringing Disney magic to life for kids of all ages.

Hallmark Gifts with Disney characters

Walt Disney moved to Kansas City with his family in 1911—nearly a year after J.C. Hall began growing his own bustling business in the very same city.

Although the two men never crossed paths in these early years, Disney worked as a paperboy and delivered daily to the home of Elizabeth Diddly, Hall’s future wife. Walt Disney and J.C. Hall eventually developed a genuine friendship after Mickey Mouse became a licensed character for Hallmark Cards.
