Recordable Storybooks

Capturing a voice on every page of a book came from a simple idea: Wouldn't it be cool if Grandpa could read to his grandchild, even when he's not right there?

We knew it was a good idea, too. Parents and grandparents have shared with us that they want to feel more connected to their loved ones—even when they're not around—and they wish they could be there for bedtime every night. So Hallmark launched Recordable Storybooks and changed the way we think about storytime.

The Recordable Storybook library

Now there are more than 20 titles in the Recordable Storybook collection.

Many even let you import your recorded story to the Hallmark + You audio library on where you can keep, edit and share them with others.

Q: What type of cord is used with Recordable Storybooks?
A: The newest versions of the Hallmark Recordable Storybooks come with a port to allow you to save the audio recordings to your account. These Recordable Storybooks require a USB Type A male to Micro B male connector. The Type A end connects to the PC. The Micro B end connects to the book. Cables can be purchased online at Amazon for around $5 or at Walmart for around $4.

Q: Will the extended storage of my Recordable Storybook with the batteries removed harm the recording?
A: The digital memory is permanent once the switch found inside the battery compartment is in the “lock” position, even when the batteries are removed for extended time periods. For extended storage, we recommend removing the batteries to avoid damaging the product in case the batteries were to leak.
