We are expecting our 4th grandchild in about 8 weeks. I selected this book to record for her, prior to her birth, so that she will learn to recognize my voice before her arrival. I believe that near-term, unborn babies do hear (and will become familiar with) voices while they’re still in-utero. Furthermore, I selected this same book to record for her cousin, my 1st grandchild, in 2012. I’ve continued to record other books for all of our grandkids since then. They have a “library of Hallmark books” recorded by me. And they listen to them over & over - to the point of memorizing the text & being able to “read along” with me by the age of 2 or 3. These books are truly cherished by them & their parents. And I really enjoy recording them!

I bought this as a baby gift for first time grandparents. This is a gift we received as first time parents that we treasure. My husband's mother did a recordable book for our daughter. Our daughter's grandmother has passed away but we have her voice and love in this treasure book.

My two grand sons who are nine and six now have a very precious baby sister. They wanted to find a very special gift for her birth and of course we headed to our local Hallmark store to make this important purchase. All my grandchildren have been recipients of Hallmark recordable books for special occasions and the oldest drifted toward the book section where we all decided the perfect gift for this beloved little girl would be a book recorded for Kaylie on the day of her birth and read to her by her two big brothers. They were so excited and with a little help from Mimi, recording went smoothly with the boys taking turns reading and then sometimes reading a line together. It was just done so perfectly and I love the way they sometimes read softly and sometimes loudly and the little expressions in their voices. You can hear their excitement and how proud they are, especially in the introduction to the the story that they personalized in their own way. They excitedly presented their book to mommy, daddy, and new baby sister on their homecoming and my daughter and I both had tears in our eyes when she started turning the pages and listening to them reading. The boys were so proud that their book was so loved and appreciated and felt included in this important homecoming. So many of my friends had never heard of these books and everyone who came to the house wanted to hear the boys reading Kaylie's book. I have two other grandsons who live three hours away and I have not seen them since February because of the quarantine. They are four and almost one year old. My son tells me that the older child takes out the books several times a week and he and the baby sit and listen to Mimi read them stories, even the Christmas books! This is such a wonderful way to leave memories for your grand children and let them know that they are always in your heart. The books are beautifully written and illustrated. Such a great idea Hallmark!
