Product Details

Due to his infamous "bad motivator," astromech droid R5-D4 missed his chance to work on the Lars farmstead. As fate—and the Force—would have it, his malfunction set the stage for R2-D2 to deliver the Death Star plans to the Rebel Alliance. This plush version of the iconic droid from Star Wars: A New Hope is a perfect addition to your itty bittys collection.

    The Droid That Goes Boom!

Avid Star Wars collector seeks unusual Star Wars characters! R5-D4 was one of the original Star Wars figures back in 1978 (showing my age). I've always had a thing for the droids and when I saw him, I got very happy. He's featured in the scene where Luke's Uncle Owen purchases C-3PO from the Jawas. R5-D4 is picked over R2-D2, but blows a gasket instead. Rumor is that he did it on purpose when he heard Artoo warble on about his secret mission, sacrificing himself so Artoo could find Obi-Wan Kenobi to deliver Princess Leia's message. That makes this heroic droid a nice addition to my collection!

    Bitsy

When I saw this, it just reminded me of my eldest Child and Star Wars; actually bought it because they had a RDD2 Toy which moved and had a shelf for snacks. Childhoods are remembered with good memories even if Life gives you Lemons to make Lemonade

R5-D4 doesn't get the credit this Droid deserves.

This R5's motivator won't blow!! The sandcrawler filled with Jawas wish to have RED back in exchange for R2-D2.

An itty bitty droid for the collection

As a big Star Wars fan, I have quite a collection of itty bittys. It's always fun to add a new character. I like it that Hallmark has included a number of droids, like R5-D4, in the collection. Naturally, he's cute.
