1949 Gillham Police Car Kiddie Car Classics Collectible Toy
- Special collector card is included.
- On collector card: Being a police officer has long been a child's dream. Pedal cars are a part of that fantasy even today, although modern versions are more likely to be made of plastic. This model was designed with all the trappings of a real police cruiser. It proudly displays the to protect and serve motto, and its beacon light harkens back to a time when lights were removable and adhered with magnets. The black-and-white color scheme is often associated with police vehicles, but that wasn't always the case. Early patrol cars sported a combination of black and green. White roofs and hoods were introduced to make the cars more visible, but during World War II, air raid fears nixed both the white accents and early roof lights. These blackout cars were later replaced with the iconic black-and-white cruisers we know today.
