Product Details

In this witty book on a popular adult topic, longtime wine and whiskey connoisseur Richard Betts boils down his know-how into 20 pages. He cools our “brown-sweat” anxieties by dividing whiskey into three simple categories: grain, wood and place. Simplifying the chemistry behind this spirited process, Betts distills the complexities enough to slide down smoothly for his readers. Calling this exalted spirit just distilled beer, Betts helps us figure out, through a nasal romp, which kinds we love best. Humorous illustrations and scratch-and-sniff scents (vanilla, sandalwood, grass and more) help up-and-coming connoisseurs learn their personal preferences.

    Fantastic Gift!

I received this book as a gift, and it is a great addition to any whiskey lover's library. Not only has the wheel led to great tastings, but it's also laid the ground for several get togethers to all try new whiskeys based on the mood. I can't recommend this book enough!
