summer of niiiiice… making the world a warmer place!
our friend, cheyenne, is making the world a warmer place by making lots and lots of blankets for people who really need them at homeless shelters. she even has a lemonade stand in the summer to make money to make MORE blankets! we just loooove a nice, soft, cozy blanket, don't you??? cheyenne, you're not just making the world a warmer place, you're making it a niiiiiiicer place!!!

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY today to patricia from your twin sister, carol!! hey, if you're twins, that means…HEY…happy birthday to YOU, too, carol!!! will you be having TWO cakes? and what kind will they be? and can we come to the party? huh?
we were just sitting around reminiscing this morning, and all of a sudden piddles says, "i miss the SUMMER OF NIIIICE." and a sad little tear was trickling slowly down her sad little cheek. if you've been our friends for awhile, you might remember the SUMMER OF NIIIICE from a couple summers ago. if you didn't know us back then, wow, are YOU in for a treat!!
but back to the story. we were all looking at each other wondering what to do, when bob came in and said, "hey, who made piddles cry THIS time?" we told bob why she was crying, and he said, "just bring back the SUMMER OF NIIIICE. what's so hard about that???"
and all together we said, "chaaaaaaaaa…" (and piddles smiled a very extremely happy smile.)
so here's what YOU can do to be part of the SUMMER OF NIIIICE!! YOU CATCH someone doing or saying something nice and you tell us!! then we tell everyone! YES, the whole worldwide web!! or you can tell us something nice that YOU have done or are doing this summer. c'mon everyone, let's spread the nice! that's what it's all about!
we're going to kick off the SUMMER OF NIIIICE tomorrow with a story about a special friend of ours!! ooooooh, it's going to be so much fun!

now what???
bill had kind of a big question for us today. so he wrote it down where we could all see it. and then he called us into a room with his very serious voice. he shut the door. and he read his big question out loud to us. in case it's too hard to read, his question is, "okay, NOW what do we do?"
take a chill pill, bill, it's friday!!
we looked at each other and we knew immediately what we had to do. bill's been working very hard this week. see how tired he looks??? so we sat him down. piddles got him a cup of coffee. (she knows just how he likes it.) and then we started feeding him chocolate. and we gave him some genius ideas. and just look at him now! we like a happy bill. a happy bill is a happy boss. and that makes for a happy friday.

breakfast with bob
bob's "on vacation" this week. we put "in vacation" in quotation marks because he's working really super-crazy-hard on stuff at home. he invited us to stay and help him, but we decided it would be more fun to come to work.
we kinda miss bob around the office. so we asked his niiiice wife deb to send us this photo. now we feel like we're having breakfast with bob every morning while we're having our coffee. and during our 2-hour lunches. and our extra-long breaks in the afternoon.

it's yoyo & yoyo!
our friend cathe is sooooo sweet!! she belongs to a group that rescues springer spaniels, and this is one of her foster puppies. guess what the puppy's name is??? it's YOYO!!! our yoyo is so proud to have a name twin!! now, we know yoyo may not LOOK like an english springer spaniel. but shhhhh, don't tell her!! cathe calls her a chocolate-covered springer! we like that, cathe! you are our hero, and you are definitely YOYO's hero, too!!

look dude, we've been haiku'd!
okay kids, who knows what a haiku is? we do! we do!! at least we do now that mr. m and his 6th graders showed us. they wrote a bunch of them about US!! and we just HAFTA share 'em, people!! they're AAAAAWESOME!!!
but first, back to what a haiku is. it's a kind of poetry that does not have to rhyme! that's cool, huh? no going through all the words in the world to find a rhyme!! and it only has 3 lines. the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7, and the last line has 5 syllables again. and that is your poetry lesson for today. now…on with the haiku show!!

let's go to a family reunion!
last weekend was peter's wife's family reunion in arkansas. (you remember peter, right? he works for us! he's the dad of toby the dog.) of course we got to go and we had loads of fun!!! there were lots and lots of niiiiice people. and talk about food!! ooooh, those people know how to eat! (that's what we like to call a compliment.) yoyo was making jokes like "hey, don't bite my head off!" all day to little cade. isn't he adorable????

and when hoops saw dylan with this lollipop, he kept shouting, "what??? i can't hear you!!! dylan just ate my ear!!!!" and then we would all laaaaaugh and laugh.
