| | Why do I need a Smilebox account? Hallmark has partnered with Smilebox to bring you this fun photo expressions application. The application uses the Smilebox engine to send your photo greetings over the internet. Smilebox takes care of all the technical aspects of this process, and Hallmark provides all of the designs. The Hallmark Privacy Policy still applies—any personal information that you provide to us is for the purposes of record-keeping only and won't be shared with any other company. Return to Top After installing, a window with the word "Updating" appears and then the program stops working. What is happening? A firewall or antivirus program may block the Hallmark installer from reaching the internet to finish loading. If your firewall blocks Smilebox, change the settings on your firewall or anti-virus software to allow Smilebox to access the internet. Return to Top Is there a version of the application available for the Mac? Currently, the application is only available for Windows XP and Vista, however Mac users can still view an e-card sent to them in their internet browser. Return to Top Can I view my creations on a Mac? Mac users can receive and view Hallmark creations sent by Windows users. You can view the greetings using any browser as long as you have the Adobe® Flash® Player installed. You can download the player from the Adobe site. Return to Top Why does my virus protection/spyware protection program give me a security warning about InstallDownloader.exe? InstallDownloader.exe is not spyware and is not a virus. This is the application. Your virus protection program may have been triggered because the installer needs to communicate to Smilebox.com to make sure it gets the latest version for you. | | How do I create an account? You don't need to create an account until you are ready to send your first creation. At that point, you will be prompted to create an account. You will need to provide your name, email address, and a password before your greeting will be sent. Return to Top I have created an account. Where do I need to sign in? To sign in to your account, click on the Sign In button in the upper right-hand corner of the program and use your e-mail address and password to sign in. Return to Top What do I get if I subscribe? Your subscription grants you unlimited use of Hallmark designs. To subscribe simply click on the “subscribe” icon on the upper right hand of the Featured Designs in the Design Catalog screen. As a subscriber, all designs are available to you as Premium designs - they display full-screen without ads, and can be printed by you and by the person you email the design to. You can update them and resend them as often as you wish. Note that this is available while you are an active subscriber. If you opt to un-subscribe, designs revert to Basic mode unless you purchase an individual design. Return to Top What is the difference between a single Premium design and a subscription membership? A single Premium design is a one-time purchase. You get the one design you buy as a full-screen, ad-free greeting that you can send over and over again. | | How do I save and send what I’ve created? Click Save and create a name for your Hallmark creation. To view your completed creations, click My Creations. You can choose a saved greeting from your collection, edit any part of it, and when you're satisfied, click Send. You'll then be taken to the Send My Creation screen, where you can type in the e-mail addresses of your recipients, a subject line for the e-mail, and a message. Return to Top How do I send a greeting to more than one person? On the "Send My Creation" screen, in the "To:" field, you can send to multiple recipients by separating their e-mail addresses with a comma or a semi-colon. Return to Top I sent my creation to a friend, but it never showed up. Ask your friend to try looking in their Junk e-mail or Spam folder. Sometimes Hallmark creations are routed there by mail filters. Return to Top How do I purchase a Hallmark design? When you're satisfied with your Hallmark creation, click Send and you will be prompted to enter the e-mail addresses of your recipients. The next screen gives you a choice to send the Basic or Premium version of the design. If you opt for the Premium version, you can enter credit card information at that point. Clicking Send is the only way to purchase a design at this time. You can find a collection of all your Basic and Premium designs in the My Designs section. There are two ways to share a greeting you've received with someone else: The easiest way is to simply forward the e-mail you received to the other person you think would like to see it. The other option, if you have the greeting open in your internet browser, is to copy and paste the URL for the greeting into a separate e-mail message. Return to Top |

| | It seems to take a long time to download a Hallmark design. Why? The speed of your internet connection will impact the length of time it takes to preview or download some Hallmark designs, especially slideshows, which are designed for a broadband connection. Dial-up connections (using a modem) are substantially slower, so please be patient. Return to Top How do I get my photos from the Photo Well into a Hallmark design? Simply click on the photo you'd like to use from the Hallmark Photo Well (on the left hand side of the Hallmark Program), and drag photo from the Photo Well into the frame in your design. To access additional features, such as rotate and zoom, right-click on the photo. Return to Top How do I load my own pictures into a Hallmark design? The first time you use the Hallmark program, it will select a sampling of the most recent photos you already have stored in the My Documents > My Pictures folder on your computer. You will see your photos displayed in the Photo Well on the left-hand side of the Hallmark Program. To add other photos, click the Get Photos button and browse to where your photos are stored. You can select photos (hold down the Ctrl or Shift key to select multiple photos) and then click on the Open button to add them to the Photo Well. To remove individual photos from the Photo Well, simply click on a photo and press the Delete key. Only use the Remove Photos button if you want to remove all of the photos currently displayed in the Photo Well. (This will not delete them from your computer.) Return to Top Can I use international characters in my Hallmark creations? Sorry, this program doesn't support international characters at this time. Return to Top My photos look out of focus in the Hallmark designs, even though they look fine in other applications. What can I do? Your photographs may appear blurry when you add them to a design if the photos are smaller in size because the application automatically enlarges them to fill the photo frame. In general, if you use photos that are sharp when they are sized 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels in height or larger, your photos won't look blurry in your Hallmark design. Return to Top |

| | What are the recommended system requirements to run the application? If your computer shipped with Windows XP or Windows Vista, you should be able to run the application. In general, it's recommended to have a Pentium 4 processor and at least 256mb RAM. Connection to the internet is required, and the program is optimized for a broadband connection. The program uses your internet browser and Flash8 (or higher) to run. We automatically detect whether Flash is installed to ensure that the animation will run.
