Ideas to Make Your Wedding Day Special
Few events spark as much planning as a wedding. Now that the big day has arrived, add a few personal touches to make the event extra special for all. To get you started, we offer the following ideas: At the Rehearsal Dinner Place a "Who's Who" list at each table setting. It's the perfect way to introduce everyone to each other. Include interesting facts such as hometowns, occupations, relationship to the bride or groom, etc. What a great way to initiate conversation at the dinner tables. At the Hotel Out-of-town guests usually stay in town for a few days. Provide them with a list of restaurants, tourist attractions and other hot spots. Include phone numbers so they can call for directions. Make the list available upon check-in or ask housekeeping to place it in their rooms. At the Church Don't forget the wedding program. In addition to being a keepsake, it can provide helpful information for those who are unfamiliar with the order of service you have chosen. At the Reception Perhaps you're planning to place one-time use cameras on each table. Take it a step further and give people the opportunity to make predictions and share pearls of wisdom. Have guests record their comments on designed papers with open-ended statements such as "My wish for the happy couple..." or "The funniest thing that happened at the reception was..." printed on them. At the "Send Off" Before being whisked away to the honeymoon suite, thank everyone for coming. If you've selected favors for your guests, make them available now along with a note that you've printed on designed papers. Include your new address if you have one. At the End of the Day Ask your significant other to pen a love letter to be read on your wedding day. When all of the toasts have been made and the last dance has been danced, retreat to the honeymoon suite and celebrate the start of "happily ever after." Exchange your love letters. Then tuck them away with the top of your wedding cake. One year from now and on every anniversary after, re-read your letters and re-live the magic of this joyous occasion.
