What it is

Driven Hannah Higgins runs for Congress to advance the cause of education reform, but her elitist persona alienates Boston voters big-time. With the help of her business partner, Hannah recruits a candidate—Elliott Doolittle—whose total lack of pretension allows him to connect instantly with anybody and everybody. But he's a little too rough around the edges, so Hannah takes Elliot on as a "project." If she can just teach him to speak like a gentleman and dress like a gentleman, he might just become a gentleman—a gentleman who can run for Congress and promote the cause that Hannah holds dear. But, as Elliot becomes more "presentable" and Hannah becomes a little less highfalutin, could this be a match made—maybe not in Heaven, but—in Boston?

The Makeover resally good movie I was very pleased to see an Americanized version of My Fair Lady. The switch in roles was neat. The acting was great. Julia Stiles was her usual good self. Camryn Manheim has been a favorite of mine since her role in Ghost Whisperer. The roles changing from Prof. Higgins to Hannah Higgens and Eliza Dolittle to Elliot Dolittle worked well. Watching Hannah change from a cold fish to a befuddled woman confused by her feelings for someone totally out of her comfort range was funny and delightful. I haven't found a Hallmark movie I didn't like. Some more than others. I just wish all of your movies were available on dvd. I already have a large collection but want more. Great job. March 8, 2013
The Makeover Liked the storyline twist and the actors and locations. Nicely filmed. As good as the Good Witch DVD. Wish I could buy the Good Witch DVDs as well. March 4, 2013
The Makeover WE enjoyed this movie on TV and ordered it. We have watched it several tmes since we got it. Very good. Thanks for making good non violent movies that everyone can watch and enjoy Thanks again March 1, 2013
The Makeover It was a wonderful, clean, romantic movie that I enjoyed the whole way through. February 23, 2013
The Makeover- Not up to other Hallmark movie standards Very cute and great Boston scenes, but there was no chemistry between the leads. I didn't care if they lived, died, or fell in love. A better leading man would have helped. His Boston accent was so forced. I bought this movie because I'm related to one of the extras in this film. He looked fantastic. On a positive note, it is very clean and pretty family friendly. A few funny lines, too. February 15, 2013

"The Makeover" This was a great movie! It was a tiny bit predictable, but still very good. The cast of characters were good, too. I especially enjoyed Camryn Manheim's role. It's a great "date night" movie. February 7, 2013
A Modern My Fair Lady After getting pass the first slow 10 minutes of the movie, the plot picked up and I was undoubtedly hooked. The movie was well paced, with a nice balance of humor and drama. To be honest, I thought I would be bored since I'm not into politics, but the political aspects were fascinating. The actors matched their characters perfectly and made them so relateable. I found David Walton perfect in his role as Elliot Doolittle. He was so cute and a sweetheart that you can't help but fall in love with him. Hannah was harder to warm up to. She didn't change as much as I expected. I was slightly disappointed in the lack of opportunities to make her less stiff. The subtle chemistry between Elliot and Hannah was nicely done. However, I was pretty down that there wasn't alot of romance. The movie was too focused on the campaign to really focus on them. Hallmark has done it again. A sweet, wholesome romance movie for the whole family to enjoy. This is a clean movie. They only kissed once at the end of the movie. If you are currently loving the Hallmark movies, you have to add this gem to your collection. If you are expecting something with a lot of depth and not the usual romance movie, pass this one by. I highly recommend this movie. I'm definitely going to watch this one over and over. January 31, 2013
