When fitness is easy and fun, employees are more likely to get motivated to improve their overall health. And the new Hallmark Health Rewards Program isn’t just fun and easy—it also pays off financially.
The Health Rewards program developed in 2010 offers employees the chance to earn points for a long list of activities—like regular exercise or medical checkups—to maintain or improve health for rewards up to $250 annually. The program is supported by the new Health Rewards website, where employees can report activities, track points and redeem rewards.
With her twice-daily power walks and sessions at the gym, Pam Gillaspie, an administrative assistant, says she won’t have any problems reaching 250 points. “It’s fun to stay in shape and easy to track what I’ve done,” Gillaspie says. “And it’s great to get rewarded. The points add up pretty fast.”
Gillaspie, who’s been a dedicated aerobic walker for more than 10 years, says she’s seen how the Health Rewards program motivates her colleagues to exercise more. “The program encourages people to walk to get points when they might not feel like it,” she says. “It's a great benefit to have Hallmark back you up in staying healthy.”
